Tiers, leagues and levels

Snakoff has three kinds of progress, and each measures something different. Your tier shows how well you play over time. Your weekly league is a fresh race every Monday. Your level grows with everything you play. The app shows where you stand; the rules are all here.

Points: how a day is scored

Every day you play a run that counts, you earn points for your place in that day. The formula is simple: 100 minus your "top X%". Finish in the top 10% and you get about 90 points; finish around the middle and you get about 50; finish last and you get none. The most a single day can give is 99.

The same day points feed both your tier and your weekly league. A day you don't play earns nothing, so showing up every day matters as much as one great day.

Tiers: Bronze to Legend

There are five tiers. Your tier comes from all the points you have ever earned:

TierPoints needed
Bronze0
Silver250
Gold900
Diamond2,400
Legend5,000

Points only ever go up, so a tier is never lost. A bad day costs you nothing but a smaller gain. A player around the middle of the field reaches Silver in about five days, Gold in about three weeks, Diamond in about seven weeks and Legend in about a hundred days.

Each tier unlocks looks that can't be bought, and you keep them for good:

TierWhat it unlocks
BronzeFern and Sunset snakes
SilverTiger snake, Sparks trail, Laurel emblem frame, Moonlight bite pulse
GoldFrost snake, Comet trail, Flame emblem frame, Gilded bite pulse, your name on public boards
DiamondGalaxy snake, Orbit emblem frame, Diamond bite pulse, the champion plaque on everyone's Home when you win a day
LegendRoyal snake, Rainbow trail, Crown emblem frame, Legend bite pulse

When you reach a new tier, the app shows a promotion screen with what you just unlocked.

Weekly leagues

The Week tab of the leaderboard is your league table. A week runs from Monday to Sunday in UTC, and every day you play adds your day points to your total for the week.

Bots in leagues

When a table has fewer than 30 real players, it is topped up with bots so there is always a race. They are the same kind of practice bots that fill small tournament rounds, and the table says so. A bot's week is made up from its seat in the table, and some bots play more days than others, just like people. As more real players join, fewer bots are needed.

Levels 1 to 50

Your level counts what you have done, not how you placed. You earn XP for:

What you didXP
A run that counts20
A round you got through30
Winning the day100

Each new level pays 25 coins, and every fifth level gives a look: the Star icon at 5, the "Survivor" title at 10, the Mint name colour at 15, the Moon icon at 20, the Glow name at 25, and so on up to the Dragon snake at level 50. Each level needs a little more XP than the last. A player who plays every day reaches level 10 in about two weeks, level 25 in about three months and level 50 in about a year.

Which one should you chase?

You don't have to choose. One run that counts a day moves all three: it earns points for your tier and your league, and XP for your level. To climb fastest, play every round you can reach, because each round you get through earns more XP, and play every day, because every day adds league points.

Practice, Endless and Play together games don't earn tier points, league points or XP. Only runs that count do.
