Shop and coins
Coins are Snakoff's in-game money. You earn them by playing and spend them in the Shop on looks for your snake and a few small conveniences. Coins are never needed to compete, and nothing that affects your score is for sale.
How to earn coins
Most coins come from playing the day:
| What you did | Coins |
|---|---|
| A run that counts | 10 |
| A round you got through | 15 |
| Winning the day | 50 |
| Your best Practice run of the day | 5, once a day |
| Endless | 5 for every 10 food, up to 100 a day |
| A Play together game | 5, up to 25 a day |
There are more ways on top:
- Daily quests. Three small goals a day worth 30 to 60 coins each. Quests need you to be online.
- The 7-day calendar. It opens once a day on Home and pays coins on most days, with a look on the others. Missing a day restarts it at day 1.
- Streak milestones. From 10 coins for a first day up to 2,500 for a 365-day streak. The full list is on streaks.
- Levels. Each new level from 2 to 50 pays 25 coins. See tiers and leagues.
- One-time rewards. Signing in (100), turning on reminders (50), your first share (50), installing Snakoff to your home screen (50) and your first challenge (50). Each pays once.
- Duplicates. A look from a chest that you already own turns into coins.
Play together games never count for ranking, streaks, leagues, quests or XP; they only pay their 5 coins.
What coins buy
- Looks. Snakes, trails, bite pulses, faces, emblem frames, name colours, name icons and result entrances. Shop prices go by rarity: Common looks cost 100 to 200 coins, Uncommon 300 to 500, and Rare 800 to 1,200.
- Chests. A random look, with the odds printed on the chest (see below).
- A name change. Your first name is free; changing it again costs 200 coins.
- A second chance on a run that counts: 100 coins, or a short ad where ads are shown. Once a day per round, and the better of your two runs counts.
- An Endless Continue. Once per run, carry on right where your snake crashed, for coins or an ad.
Before any coin spend, the game asks you to confirm.
The Shop sells Common, Uncommon and Rare looks. Epic and Legendary looks are earned through tiers, streaks, levels and winning a day, or found in some chests. Exclusive looks come only from events and are never in the Shop or in chests.
Chests
Each chest card in the Shop shows its name, its type and one price. Tap the chest or its (i) button to see its odds table by rarity and, if it has one, a "Guaranteed" line.
The chests:
- Bronze Chest (Standard). Always in the Shop. Its pool is the Shop's own looks plus some looks found only in chests. This season that includes the Coffee snake, the Maple trail and the Acorn name style, all Rare.
- Silver Chest (Standard). Better odds, and it needs a short rewarded ad as well as coins, so it only appears where ads are shown. Guaranteed: Uncommon or better.
- The Events chest (Event), named after the season that is on: the Pumpkin, Frost, Blossom, Sunny or Maple Chest. It holds that season's looks, for example the Golden Leaf snake (Epic) in the Maple Chest. Guaranteed: Rare or better. Halloween's Pumpkin Chest and pumpkin looks stay under Events.
- The Luck Box (Daily deal). One of the chests at a lower price for the day, the same for everyone, changing at 00:00 UTC. The card shows the usual price struck through next to the deal price, and that chest leaves the standard list for the day, so it is only ever sold at one price.
The odds today, straight from the game's chest file:
| Chest | Type | Price | Common | Uncommon | Rare | Epic | Legendary | Event looks | Exclusive |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze Chest | Standard | 200 coins | 70% | 26% | 4% | — | — | — | 0% |
| Silver Chest | Standard | 500 coins + an ad | — | 50% | 42% | 8% | — | — | 0% |
| Events chest | Event | 600 coins | — | — | 25% | 15% | 5% | 55% | 0% |
How a chest picks
A chest first picks a rarity by its odds, then a look of that rarity from its pool. The rarities, from most to least common, are Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Exclusive (Exclusive looks are never in chests, so their odds are always 0%).
The same odds are in each chest's (i) table in the Shop. When you are online, the server picks the result, so it can't be chosen or rolled again, and a retry after a lost connection gives you the same chest without charging twice.
Duplicates
If a chest gives a look you already own, you get coins instead: 50 for a Common, 120 for an Uncommon, 300 for a Rare, 450 for an Epic and 700 for a Legendary.
Coin packs
Coin packs are coming, but they are not on sale yet. When coin packs open, there will be four:
| Pack | Price (VAT included) |
|---|---|
| 500 coins | EUR 0.99 |
| 1,300 coins | EUR 1.99 |
| 3,500 coins | EUR 4.99 |
| 8,000 coins | EUR 9.99 |
They will be sold through Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record. Coins can't be exchanged for money or transferred to other players. See refunds for how purchases and refunds will work.
Coins never decide a game
Coins never buy points, a place in the ranking or an easier arena. Can you pay to rank higher? No, ever. Everyone gets the same arena and the same tries, and the second chance can always be taken with an ad instead of coins. A player who never spends a coin can win any day.
