Endless mode tips
Endless is Snakoff’s mode for when you want more than 45 seconds. There is no clock: the run lasts until you crash. You can play it as often as you like, and it never affects the daily tournament. Here is how it works, and how to make your runs last.
How Endless works
- The arena is the largest standard shape, with no inner walls. Only the outer walls and your own tail can stop you.
- Food: 3 to 5 pieces are on the board at once. The count is picked for each run, and so is where the food appears.
- Speed: the snake starts at the usual pace and keeps speeding up for about four minutes, then levels off.
- Score: the food you ate. Your best is kept, and the Endless board ranks everyone who played.
The Continue
When you crash, you can Continue once per run: for 100 coins (or by watching an ad, where ads are on). The run goes on with a short new snake back at the start, at the same speed, and your score carries over. Or tap END RUN to finish.
The Continue is worth the most on a good run. If you crash early, end the run and start a fresh one: it costs nothing. If you crash near your best, 100 coins may buy you the food that beats it.
Tips to eat more
- Use the slow start. The first minute is the calmest. Settle into a tidy pattern before the speed arrives, instead of chasing every piece.
- Keep your body in lanes. A long snake is only dangerous when it is messy. Sweeping the arena in rows or loops leaves open space ahead of you.
- Don’t cut across your own body. The nearest food is not always the best one. Take the piece that leaves you a way out.
- Look one turn ahead. Turns can be queued: you can line up the next turn before the snake reaches the corner, which helps when it gets fast.
- Watch the walls late in the run. At top speed, most crashes are a turn made one cell too late. Turn early near the edges.
What Endless earns
Endless pays 5 coins for every 10 food, up to 100 coins a day. Three badges show next to your name: Loop for 50 food in one run, Comet for 100, and Infinity for 200. Some days’ quests ask for Endless too, like eating 30 food or playing three runs.
The board is the Endless tab of the leaderboard, with Today and All time inside, so there is always a fresh race for today even when the all-time list is out of reach.
